How do you feel about Public display of affection and then some?

My bf of 2 1/2 years always wants to do stuff when we are in public. We have chances to be alone , but not all the time. I am okay with hugging, kissing in public, but nothing else. I never have been. To be frank, I think its gross and uncomfortable. He got mad when he wanted to do stuff in a park that was secluded-but people were walking by every 10 min or so-more than kissing (I won't go into detail). He called me the most boring girl ever, pathetic, and that I act like a 10 year old and made a huge deal out of it calling me really hurtful names for about 2 hours straight. It is not that I don't want to do stuff with him, it is just that I do not like sharing our intimacy in public. Am I really wrong for not feeling comfortable with this type of PDA? How would you feel about it?
