Can anyone here name a reason for supporting Proposition 8 that isn't based solely on religion?

Not trying to be a troll. I heard someone yesterday in ping say that there were other reasons that Prop 8 ped that weren't religious. As I didn't know this person, I didn't stop them on the street and ask, but I am curious, b/c I can't think of any.
