I have Sound Blaster Audigy and have installed it along with programs, but can't talk through the headset?

I have an Audigy SE soundcard and a headset with the green and pink male plug wire that can plug into the back of the sound card which I ume thats where I plug my headset into. The speakers on my computer male green plug fit into the the third female opening on the back of the sound card in my computer leaving behind an extra spot. My microphone on the headset doesn't seem to work as I have successfully installed the software and programs, device drivers, and updated them, and hardware was working properly according to the device manager. Now my gripe is that I have an integrated sound card and that works for the mic on the headset. What is the problem?
